How the ratings work

Each legend's overall is the average of six attributes — pace, shooting, passing, dribbling, defending and physicality. That single number is what you're comparing, so an all-round great will usually beat a one-dimensional specialist. Comparing players across different eras is exactly what makes the calls so hard — and so fun to argue about.
